While the economy was down, Ohioans filled their drinks to the top in response as statewide liquor sales in Ohio were at a record high in 2009.

Liquor sales hit $735 million for a record net profit of $224 million.

The commerce director says sales have gone up because of price increases and consumers drinking more.

The top selling brand was Kamchatka Vodka followed by Jack Daniels and Bacardi Light.
