Camus Cognac targeting high-end market in China
World's last family owned large cognac producer Camus Cognac is now focusing on Chinese market. The 145-year-old international winery is taking China as its most important market, with latest move to prepare its international airport boutique in Beijing next month.
In fact, China has become Camus's largest single market, sale on value term in 2009 increased by more than 100%, accounting for 10% of its global share. China has become the world's fastest growing markets for Camas.
According to Camus, the international luxury producers usually bring 12% -25% of revenues into the building of the brand, while Camus invested more than 50% in China in 2009, and next year will be more. In addition to a large investment, Camus also changed its flavor for China, launching products specially for China consumers. This is a move never adopted in other markets.
