Deetlefs Wine Laboratory rated top laboratory for 2009
Deetlefs Wine Laboratory was once again voted top wine laboratory in South Africa by the South African Wine Laboratory Association (SAWLA) at a recent function held on 2 December 2009. This award is given in recognition of consistency of wine analysis.
The aim of SAWLA is to improve the quality of wine laboratories in South Africa, as well as the standardisation of methodology in these labs. SAWLA administers a monthly proficiency wine analysis round in a groundbreaking open source web-based inter-laboratory LIMS. Participating laboratories (55) receive similar samples from a central distribution point and then have a week to analyse and submit their results on-line.
Deetlefs Wine Laboratory has been under the top 10 laboratories for the past five years, achieving top laboratory status together with Distell Bergkelder in 2007, hereby highlighting the consistency of analysis and service levels.
Deetlefs Wine Laboratory is an independent wine laboratory and operates according to ISO 17025 requirements and is responsible for the Quality Management Program for the Deetlefs Group.
