Virgin Wines helps fund South African school
Virgin Wines has announced it will help provide further funding as part of a project to build new facilities at a primary school in South Africa.
A new computer centre and library is the focus for the Fairhills Project that was set up in 2005, as a joint venture between Du Toitskloof Wine Cellar and the wine exporter, Origin Wine.
Usizo wines have been available on the Virgin Wines website since August 2009, and funds from each case sold are being invested in the project.
The online retailer said a contribution of around R60,000 has been made, which has gone some way to fund the build of the computer centre and library at Lorraine Primary School in Rawsonville, but a new roof is also needed before the country's winter.
Jay Wright, managing director of Virgin Wines, said: "We are extremely grateful to those customers who've already helped get this computer centre and library project off the ground and we are hoping that by promoting this special case offer it will give the project the final push that it needs to enable the roof to go on before winter."
A case offer on Usizo wines is available from February 23, on the Virgin Wines website.
Virgin Wines has committed to tripling the recommended contribution being given from each case to the project.
