Gallo Family Vineyards has closed its public tasting room in Healdsburg, the first hospitality center in its 76-year history.

Gallo did not give a reason for the closure, but said its Gallo of Sonoma wines will continue to be available through its wine club and Web site.

The tasting room on Center Street, across from Healdsburg’s downtown plaza, closed Monday. It opened in 2003.

Modesto-based E.&J. Gallo Winery, the world’s largest family wine company, operates a winery in Dry Creek Valley northwest of Healdsburg.
