Wenzhou to build a wine hub for mainland China
On March 11, representatives from Wenzhou Customs, Wenzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Wenzhou wine Association and some large wine enterprises held a forum to explore the related issues of building Wenzhou into a wine hub.
In recent years, imported wine began to pop up in the Chinese market. Great potential of the market attracted many companies to import foreign wine. However, there is no large-scale distribution center for both local and imported wine. On the other hand, imported wine businesses are more scattered, which is not good for the flow and testing of imported wines. Besides, importers and distributors also need a direct platform for transaction.
Thus, Wenzhou is proceeding to create a distribution center for imported wines, to build a wine hub for the whole country.
According to customs data, Wenzhou City, Wenzhou wine imports ranked No. 1 in Zhejiang province in 2009 . Its rapid economic development and the high purchasing power of people are beneficial to the construction of wine hub .
