Renowned Aromatics Producer Wins Riesling Trophy at Royal Easter Show

Lawson’s Dry Hills takes out the Auckland A P & I Show Boards Trophy, for Champion Riesling at the prestigious Royal Easter Show Wine awards with their 2007 Riesling.

Winemaker Marcus Wright, was extremely happy with the fruit quality of the 2007 which was harvested in excellent condition and continues to age superbly.

He believes the 2008 and 2009 are looking even better!

Renowned for their aromatics, Lawson’s Dry Hills has made Riesling since the mid 90’s and is very excited at having their older Riesling recognized amongst the quality of wines vying for this trophy.

This wine has previously received a Gold at the Liquorland Top 100 in 2009.

Released in 2009 the wine is aging superbly with wonderful freshness, classic citrus and mineral characters with just enough residual sugar (6g/l) to balance this crisp dry wine which is just starting to show the toasty characters of age.
