Clare Valley white wine growers in the red

The wine glut has hit South Australia's boutique regions this vintage.
Growers in the Clare Valley, who are renowned for growing quality riesling grapes, are being offered just $300 a tonne for any uncontracted fruit.
The same grapes have sold for well over $1000 in the past.
Chairman of the Clare Region Wine Grape Growers Association, Frank Nicholls, says it's been tough this season.
"Unless you're fortunate enough to be one of those growers who's locked into a contract that's getting $1500 to $2000 a tonne for their fruit, most growers in Clare will be coming out of this year in the red," he says.
"The lion's share of them are going to be hurting financially."
