Great Wall wins top wine brand of Chinese market

"2009 large retailers merchandise sales”, a survey jointly organized by the China Chamber of Commerce, the China Business Information Center, showed that COFCO's Great Wall, a famous brand of Chinese wine, wins the first place of comprehensive market share. This means the Great Wall wines win the prize once again following six consecutive similar prize between 2003-2008.

The survey covered more than 600 commercial enterprises of 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. Great Wall gaining the first place of  market share showed consumers’ increasing recognition on the brand and its products, on the other hand, it shows that the Great Wall’s strong market competitiveness and vitality.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics recently released annual data, COFCO has become a wine industry leader, with wine productions amounts to 96 million tons in 2009, a growth of 27.63%.
