Domestic and foreign consumers will have the opportunity to sample South Africa's wine, olive oil from Tunisia, Uganda's coffee, cassava from Nigeria, sesame from Ethiopia and famous African wood carvings at the third African Commodity Exhibition to be held from Oct. 21 to Oct. 25 of this year in Yiwu City, the world's largest small commodity distribution center in East China's Zhejiang province.

Xie Yajing, the Chinese commercial counselor in charge of Western Asian and African Affairs, said that China attaches great importance to the rapid and healthy development of Sino-African trade. To this end it has introduced a number of initiatives to promote more African products on the Chinese market.

The commodity exhibition will further enhance consumer awareness of African products to effectively promote African business exchanges and cooperation with Chinese enterprises.

According to exhibition organizer Genertec International Advertising & Exhibition Co., Ltd. (Genex), the Third African Commodity Exhibition will be held in Yiwu International Exhibition Centre. The exhibition covers about 4,000 square meters with 200 standard booths. It will invite large commercial enterprises, chain supermarkets, importers, traders and other professional buyers to talk to exhibitors from African countries.

In order to attract more exhibitors from African countries, the exhibition will provide five favorable measures such as no charge for exhibition, free marketing and promotional activities, no charge for customs clearance of exhibits in China and transportation costs from warehouses to the exhibition hall. Exhibition equipment, translation services and organizing exhibitors to visit the relevant product markets are also free of charge.
