Cliff Richard - Richard To Launch Wine To Mark 70Th Birthday

SIR CLIFF RICHARD will launch his own brand of sparkling wine to mark his upcoming 70th birthday.

The pop veteran, who will reach the milestone age on 14 October (10), owns a vineyard in Portugal's Algarve region called Adega do Cantor, which translates as Winery of the Singer.

Richard already produces a number of different drinks at the state-of-the-art estate under his Vida Nova brand and now he is creating his first sparkling rose to celebrate his landmark birthday.

A spokesperson for the star says, "We were keen to extend the Vida Nova range to include a sparkling wine and decided to make the first vintage to mark Sir Cliff's 50 years in music and to celebrate his 70th birthday. We are delighted with the first bottling and have already received a number of pre-orders from ardent Cliff fans."
