Gordon Ramsay sued for outstanding wine payments

Loathed and loved chef Gordon Ramsay is being sued by an America wine merchant for reportedly not paying for $NZ55,906 worth of wine.

Wineberry America LLC have accused the foul-mouthed chef, his private equity backers the Blackstone Group, and a range of his hotels of not paying for the wine – despite it being ordered and delivered, according to Reuters.

Court documents obtained by Reuters show the wine merchant was in business with Ramsay from mid 2007 until late 2009.

The law suit taken out by the company alleges that during their two years of business with the chef, Ramsay stopped paying for the wine orders.  

Neither Ramsay nor Wineberry America LLC has yet commented on the legal spout.
