Hawke’s Bay In Australia, Counting down to July’s hottest red wine event
Wine lovers in Melbourne and Sydney will have the rare and pleasurable opportunity of visiting 24 Hawke’s Bay wineries in their own cities in July this year.
Hawke’s Bay is New Zealand’s oldest and second largest wine region in the country and for the first time ever is bringing the “Hot Red Hawke’s Bay” event to Australia. Renowned as New Zealand’s red wine capital, over 130 wines will be available for tasting on the day with a range representative of the Hawke’s Bay annual vintage.
Part of the annual wine calendar in New Zealand, “Hot Red Hawke’s Bay” has been specially developed to bring Hawke’s Bay’s wine to export markets. The largest range of New Zealand wines ever seen at one event from Sauvignon Blanc to Viognier to Chardonnay and the acclaimed Hawke’s Bay Merlot, Syrah and red blends will be on show. For the lucky attendees there will be wines from 2005 to wines not yet released and wines with recommended retail prices ranging from $16.00 to $95.00.
Many of the winemakers will be there in person to talk through the wines and provide a real understanding of Hawke’s Bay’s regional strengths. The doors will open to wine industry and hospitality trade and media at midday for the first session. The general public will be admitted at 4:00pm to join in the total experience. Accompanying the event is a Hawke’s Bay tourism showcase and information from Export Hawke’s Bay about regional product coming to Australia.
General admission tickets are $40 and are available on www.ticketmaster.com.au . This includes free tasting of all wines and a full catalogue of all wines and wineries. Trade can register directly online at www.winehawkesbay.co.nz .
