Discover new ways to enjoy fish in Shanghai!!! The New Gastronomy Fiesta presents:
Óscar Calleja and Toshiro Konishi

One of the greatest richness in Shanghainese gastronomy is its magnificent fish and seafood. To praise the flavours of the sea in this great city, as of  this week the Spain Pavilion brings in two great chefs; Óscar Calleja, a young and promising chef from Cantabria (northern Spain) and Toshiro Konishi, one of the maximum representatives of nikkei cuisine (a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cooking).

The Gastronomic Program Spain in Shanghai. The New Gastronomy Fiesta, celebrates its third week with Cantabria. There will be 17 gastronomic weeks during the Expo Shanghai 2010 (one for every region of Spain), in all the program will unite 49 Michelin stars. The chefs will be invited each time, one Spanish and one international chef, being the great protagonists of these days. They will both elaborate on a gastronomic menu in conjunction with a base of Cantabrian products, where you can indulge in (for lunch and dinner) at one of the other stages in which the Spain Pavilion has opened up in the city: Gastronomic Restaurant Acqua, in the Gran Meliá Shanghai Hotel during the week of June 7th ~ June 18th (For reservations: +86-021-38  67 97 77 )

Calleja and Toshiro will offer a total culinary experience to delight in such as Scallop tender almond soup with small bean sprouts or Tuna in Creole sauce. This is a real opportunity to know fusion cooking latest trends.

Gastronomic Week of Cantabria’s opening is relying on Spain Pavilion’s Commisioner, Maria Tena, Cantabria’s official delegation and the chefs themselves.
