Shenzhen International Wine Culture Industry Town starts construction
Shenzhen International Wine Culture Industry Town, a one-billion-Yuan wine project started construction at Shenzhen’s Longgang District on August 17.
It will be built as comprehensive service platform including wine exhibitions and trade, service training, information releasing, quality examination as well as a cultural and leisure center.
With an area of 40,000 square meters, the Shenzhen International Wine Culture Industry Town is to built into 5 parts: Embassy zone for wine producing regions, purchase & trade zone, bars & restaurants and cultural exhibition zone.
Statistics show that china's imported wines kept an yearly growth of more than 50% in the past two years. In 2009 the total volume of the mainland’s imports achieved 171 million litres, equivalent 228 million 750ml bottles. By 2012 China is expected to become the world’s 7th biggest country for wine consumption, annual wine consumption amounts to 1.2 billion bottles; In next 5 years, imported wine will take up one third of China wine market.
