The ‘Week of Tapas’ will close on a high note Spain Pavilion’s Gastronomy Fiesta
The best tapas will bring to an end Spain Pavilion’s ambitious program that brought 49 Michelin stars to cook at the Gran Meliá Shanghai Hotel during the Expo
SHANGHAI, October 13th, 2010.– Having the TAPAS come to Shanghai is a must during an international melting pot such as World Expo 2010. And they are here with a clear goal: to show the world a Spanish gastronomic uniqueness –as it is often said, “eat small of many (different dishes)”. A tradition closely related with the lifestyle and the way Spaniards enjoy food in their cities, and therefore, also connected to the Expo motto, ‘Better City, Better Life’.
The special program ‘Spain in Shanghai. The New Gastronomy Fiesta’ has already brought to China’s largest city 49 Michelin stars during the past six months. This time, it will close the Shanghai Expo on a high note, with a Week of Tapas taking place from October 18th to 24th at the Tap文章来源中国酒业新闻网as Bar of the pavilion.
The host of the bar, prestigious chef Pedro Larumbe, will make room to share his kitchen with Willy, the charismatic and well-known Spanish chef of Shanghai (from El Willy restaurant). And joining them will also be Apple Jiang, from the Shangri-La Hotel in Pudong, who has already worked with Spanish star-chefs such as Juan Mari Arzak and Martín Berasategui, thanks to a program of exchanges between chefs promoted by the Spanish Trade Institute.
Each of the chefs will create three exclusive new tapas just for this special week, adding their own concepts and variations to these small dishes. Therefore, only during one week, the guests of Pedro Larumbe’s Tapas Bar in Spain Pavilion will have the opportunity to taste up to nine different “bites” of the best gastronomy.
