Imported wine kept increasing

According to the information of China Custom, volume of imported wine has kept increasing since last year. Wines entered China via port of Jiangshu province accounts for 2,531 tons by volume and 9.298 million US dollars by value, rising by 100 % in volume and 92.7% in value compared to last year. The lion’s share of imported wines are from EU and Australia, totaled 95%. 

The reason behind the surging of imported wine is the increasing demand of Chinese market. A practitioner in logistic of alcohol business said that wine demand in Nanjing rises roughly by 20% every year; the total consumption olume in Jiangsu province is 250-300 thousand tons for last year.

On the other hand, there are also favorable policies for wine importers. Besides, bulk buying means a good price for wine consumer in China. Many tend to buy more from the importers at low cost.
