Wine exports up 25% in nine months

Wine exports from Ukraine grew by 25.3% in the first nine months of 2010 year-on-year, to more than 0.8 million decaliters, the State Tax Administration (STA) has reported.
Wine producers sold 0.05 million decaliters of cognac and over 0.35 million decaliters of champagne and sparkling wines. Compared to January-September 2009, the production of cognac rose by 1%, to more than 2.1 million decaliters, and wine by 52.8%, to more than 23.8 million decaliters. In general, wine production in January-September 2010 totaled over 3.3 million decaliters of champagne and sparkling wines. In January-September 2010 compared to the same period in 2009, the sale of cognac on the domestic market rose by 0.7%, to more than 2 million decaliters, champagne and sparkling wines by 2.4%, to more than 2.8 million decaliters, and wine by 54.6%, to more than 23.4 million decaliters.
