ITALY lags behind other wine-exporting countries in terms of its share of the China and Hong Kong markets, according to a leading figure in the country's wine industry.

Piero Antinori, president of the Istituto Grandi Marchi (an association that brings together 17 fine wine producers in the country to promote high quality Italian wine globally) called for a greater Italian presence in the important wine markets at the start of a tour of Asia undertaken by the group, reported news agency AGI.
