The 11th Western China International Fair will be held from Oct. 22 to 26 in Chengdu, capital of southwestern Sichuan Province, the organizers said Monday.

Some 3,153 businesses from 44 countries and regions would attend the fair, including multinationals such as Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) , Honda, LG and Diageo, said Huang Xiaoxiang, executive director of the fair's organizing committee and vice governor of Sichuan, at a press conference in Beijing.

The fair would provide 8,890 exhibition booths, covering 160,000 square meters, Huang said.

The 2010 Global Trade Forum, the fourth China-Latin America Enterprises Summit, the first Sino-Indian Business Forum and the fifth China-EU Investment and Trade Fair would be held on the sidelines of the Western China International Fair, he said.

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan and senior officials from other countries, the United Nations and other international organizations would attend the fair, he said.

"The annual event has been held in Chengdu for 10 straight years, and has become an important platform for China and other countries to boost cooperation in trade and investment," he said.
