Shanghai: Imported Wines Surged by 51%

On January 5th, Shanghai Customs disclosed the fact that consumption of imported wines in Shanghai enjoyed a gradual increase. Statistics showed that wines imported at Shanghai trading port saw a 51% increase in volume, a 76% rise in value year on year. Wine markets at the tariff-free zone witnessed an excellent situation in terms of both quantity and quality.
In order to meet the needs of the market, Shanghai Customs took both inside and outside measures, such as conduct wine knowledge training, strengthen standard declaration at the source, organize policy teach-ins regularly, set up wine specialist liaison officers, etc. for customs inspectors and customs brokers in wines respectively to optimize wine import declaration environment in Shanghai, thus greatly speeding up wine declaration in Shanghai.
