India wants to join the OIV

By   2011-2-18 16:30:51

The Indian government officially submitted a request for membership to the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) on 12 January this year. The OIV has stated that “this application demonstrates the interest shown by this country in the winegrowing sector, which was already expressed at the last OIV meeting in Beaune in October 2010”.

If the Indian request is greeted positively after the 6-month acceptance process, Indian representatives will be entitled to take part in the Executive Committee, the commissions and expert groups as envoys from the 45th OIV member state. (VSB - 28 January 2011)
