Yulia returns to Matakana

This weekend Ascension Wine Estate at Matakana celebrates the return of Yulia.

Yulia will be making her first live performances on returning to New Zealand after winning the European Song Competition in Riga, Latvia and signing a music production record deal with Craig Leon, a music producer known for his recordings of Pavarotti, Sting and Blondie.

It is the second consecutive year she will perform at the estate, about 40 minutes drive from downtown Auckland.

Yulia was also recently awarded "Best Nationwide Entertainment" by the 2010 NZ Corporate Events Guide People's Choice Awards.

Ascension owner Darryl Soljan says the wine estate is working to become a mecca for live entertainment and securing a performer of Yulia's quality is pivotal to success and momentum in this important part of his business.

"We were thrilled to host Yulia at two sell out performances last year, and our customers have been 'crying out for more'," he says. "Yulia and her stunning voice are like our Reserve Chardonnay - elegant, deep, expressive and focussed with a long, memorable finish that stays with you long after the final drop."

Ascension Wine Estate is providing two different opportunities for guests to enjoy Yulia's live performance:

A gala dinner and show on Saturday, February 19 at 7pm and a matinee performance on Sunday, February 20 at 3pm.
