China’s first sommelier marketing course opened in Yantai

The first sommelier marketing course—ISNAB sommelier marketing course began in China Agricultural University (Yantai) on March 7, 2011. Reporters of China Wine News learned from the opening ceremony of the course that Yantai was intended to forge itself into an output center of wine culture education in China, with the aim of fostering a great number of sommeliers catering to the needs of the wine industry.

At the ceremony, a keynote report was given themed on “General Introduction and Prospect of the Wine Industry in China and the World”.

ISNAB (China) Institute was co-built by China Agricultural University (Yantai) and ISNAB, which is the first professional wine education institution setting up sommelier marketing course in China. ISNAB (China) Institute has four teaching teams, namely, French ISNAB Institute teaching team, China Agricultural University (Yantai) teaching team, professional sommelier teaching team and entrepreneurs with experienced in alcohol marketing and management. In addition to imparting fundamentals concerning wine, the course is determined to foster the very person to satisfy wine-making and selling companies by taking the requirements posed by wine market development into consideration.

Except for sommelier marketing course, ISNAB (China) Institute also provides “3+3” and “1+3” program to study in France, ISNAB (France) sommelier certificate program, entrepreneur training course, etc.

Li Xingzuo, vice president of China Agricultural University (Yantai) claimed that these courses would not only cultivate more professionals for the wine industry, but also bring a lot of wine-producing techniques and wine culture of Bordeaux to Yantai.
