Constellation Brands donates $100,000 to aid New Zealand earthquake relief

VICTOR, N.Y. - Constellation Brands, Inc. is donating NZD $150,000, (USD $113,000), to the New Zealand government’s Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
This donation is in response to the 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Christchurch, the country’s second largest city, on Feb. 22. The company employs approximately 230 people in New Zealand and operates a regional sales office in Christchurch, the area hardest hit by the quake.
"Thankfully, Constellation's employees are safe and uninjured after the powerful quake," said Rob Sands, president and chief executive officer, Constellation Brands. "Through Constellation's corporate social responsibility initiative, the company is committed to assisting in areas of need, especially in locations where our employees work and live. We are pleased to make this donation to help during this critical time."
New Zealand is one of Constellation’s key geographic regions with sales of well-known wine brands including Kim Crawford, Nobilo, Monkey Bay and Selaks.
