Jackson Family Wines today announced it has appointed 15-year veteran employee, Cory Jones, to the role of Vice President, National Sales, for its Majestic Fine Wines Division. Jones will be taking over the position most recently held by Bill O’Connor, who was promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales in June 2010. In his new post, Jones will assume full responsibility for all MFW sales activities within the United States and will continue to report to O’Connor.

After serving as Corporal in the United States Marine Corp for four years, Jones joined Southern Wine and Spirits in 1987. In 1996, he started his career with Jackson Family Wines as District Manager and one of the first employees of the newly formed Regal Wine Company. He has since held six positions within the Sonoma County-based company, most recently Vice President, Western Zone, a position he has held since August 2010. Jones has shown himself to be a strong and well-respected leader, receiving numerous awards throughout his career, including the Michael Haarstad Special Recognition Award – the company’s highest honor, Regional Manager of the Year, Chairman’s Special Recognition Award (two-time recipient) and Channel Director of the Year.

“We searched long and hard for the right person for this role,” said Rick Tigner, President of Jackson Family Wines. “A true team player with a proven track record of success, Cory Jones was the perfect fit. His dedication, passion and solid leadership skills are the right combination to take our business to the next level.”

Founded in 1982, Jackson Family Wines is a family-owned company that focuses on crafting wines of distinct character and quality.
