Former L.A. attorneys launch Gold Country Wine Tours
SUTTER CREEK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Former Los Angeles attorneys, Kirk Neiberger and Cathy Patrenos, recently announced the launch of Gold Country Wine Tours, Inc. Amador County’s premiere wine tour service.
Daily tours begin with pick-ups at local hotels, bed and breakfast inns and RV parks where guests are met and whisked away in the company’s comfortable shuttle bus for a memorable day visiting four to six local wineries. The all-inclusive, five-hour tours feature wine tasting, a picnic lunch at a winery, and souvenir wine glass.
For many years, Neiberger and Patrenos have enjoyed the wineries located within and around scenic Shenandoah Valley in Amador County. In 2006, they purchased land outside Sutter Creek. “We both knew this was where we wanted to end up living, but the question was how, since neither of us was ready for retirement,” said Patrenos. “One day, a close friend said jokingly, ‘Why don’t you guys start a wine tour business up there?’” From this simple idea grew a plan that would eventually become Gold Country Wine Tours, an enterprise which couldn’t be further from the practice of law for this husband and wife team.
“Gold Country Wine Tours is about more than just taking people from winery to winery to sample delicious wines,” says Neiberger. “We want to educate our guests about the rich history behind the wines, which will further enhance their wine tasting experience.” Created in the wake of the California Gold Rush of 1849, the vineyards of Shenandoah Valley and Amador County produce over 30 different varietal wines, but are best known for their world-class Zinfandel.
