Opus One Winery annouces opening of offices Hong Kong
Opus One Winery’s CEO David Pearson today announced the opening of sales representative offices in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Said Mr. Pearson, “The winery is pleased to introduce two new sales managers responsible for Japan, Greater China and Singapore. These regions have shown significant sales growth and high strategic importance. The addition of these positions reinforces Opus One’s commitment to the growing global market for fine wine.”
A resident of the U.S. for 27 years, Ms. Yasuko Cadby will be responsible for the market throughout Japan. Ms. Cadby is a native of Miyazaki Japan, graduating from Sophia University in Tokyo. After obtaining a second degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in Miami, she established a career as a noted wine journalist for major Japanese publications while also translating technical papers covering all aspects of the wine industry. Ms. Cadby was dedicated to promoting the wine industry through close work with the California Wine Institute, the Napa Valley Vintners, the Sonoma County Vintners and the Washington State Wine Commission. In 2007 Ms. Cadby joined Opus One as a guest relations coordinator, specializing in public relations and wine education for the Asian markets.
A native of Singapore now living in Hong Kong, Ms. Yvonne Chiong Mougin takes on responsibility for sales in Hong Kong, the People’s Republic of China and Singapore. One of the youngest English-Chinese speaking sommeliers in Singapore and Mainland China, Ms. Chiong Mougin has worked the last ten years in all facets of the wine and spirits industry. She worked four years as head sommelier with Jean-Georges Shanghai and later as buyer for a Chinese-owned restaurant group in China, Hong Kong and Tokyo. As a freelance wine consultant, she collaborated with major distributors and wine and spirits producers in markets throughout Asia. Ms. Chiong Mougin has achieved many awards within the industry and has acted as contributing writer, speaker and guest taster for Starwine-New York, Sopexa-China, World of Food-China and Wine & Dine-Shanghai. She has been featured in international magazines such as Wine Spectator USA, Vogue-Taiwan, Wine & Dine-Singapore, Chinese Bordeaux Guide and Sommeliers International France.
