We’re very pleased to have been able to facilitate the forming of one of the larger wine groups in Australasia” says Wine Business Solutions Principal, Peter McAtamney.

“It’s one of a number of transactions we’ve been working on that have recently crossed the line. In South Africa, two of the largest co-ops – Wamakersvallei and Wellington – have merged to form a company with more processing capacity than McWilliams. They originally started a dialogue over 20 years ago, WBS advised shareholders on the benefits of a merger around 2 years ago and now finally the deal is done. Whilst the merged company has little branded wine business at this point, they form the powerhouse behind a number of South Africa’s leading brands.

WBS associate, Adam Parkinson, recently assisted the Hickinbotham family with the sale of the Paringa Estate vineyard, one of Australia’s finest. The sale of land and water achieved better than book value which is quite an achievement in the current environment. This again proves the value of a quality Information Memorandum and well run sales process.

WBS is also assisting an icon West Australian brand with the sale of its assets which include some of the State’s most awarded vineyards and wines. That one has yet to close.

We’re also helping a global wine player who is looking to acquire a business that has strong international sales capability.

Altogether, it’s exciting times and it’s great to be able to leverage the network we have built up over the last 8 years to add value for our clients.”
