The ProWein trade show has ended with good figures: 38.000 visitors (plus 5 per cent) came to meet 3.600 exhibitors (200 more than last year) to see and taste new wines.

On the exhibitors side, all the internationally relevant producing nations from Europe and around the world were present, as well as exotic producers such as Brazil and India. The show organisers report that not only has the number of visitors increased, the number of international visitors has increased significantly. The organisers recorded an increased interest from visitors from Great Britain, Scandinavia, the US and Canada, as well as from Eastern Europe, particularly Russia, the Czech Republic and the Baltic states. More visitors from Asia were also recorded, particularly those from China, Thailand and Hong Kong.

In addition to wines, stronger beverages were also presented. More than 300 international spirits producers presented a sophisticated mix of famous classics, country-specific specialities and unusual new products. For example, the La Tequilera group presented the "most expensive tequila in the world".

To ensure all involved can plan as well as possible, the dates for the ProWein show in 2012 and 2013 have already been announced. ProWein 2012: 4. to 6. March, ProWein 2013: 24. to 26. March.
