Fake Aussie plonk floods wine stores
FAKE bottles of best-selling Aussie wine Jacob’s Creek are flooding into wine stores across Britain.
The foul-tasting booze, thought to have been made in China, looks identical to the real thing – but for a spelling mistake on the label. It reads “Wine of Austrlia” without the middle “a”.
Hundreds of bottles have already been seized by trading standards officers as far apart as London, Brighton and Wales after middlemen flogged them to retailers for as little as £2 a bottle. Genuine Jacob’s Creek retails for anything up to £10.
