Ukraine plans to host beer festival during Euro 2012

KIEV, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Western city of Lvov is planning to host the beer festival during the UEFA Euro 2012, director of the Lvov City Council tournament department Oleh Zasadny saidon Friday.

According to Zasadny, the beverages will be spreading in compliance with the UEFA rules.

"UEFA has an obvious position that only non alcoholic beer is permitted on stadiums, as well as in the fan zones. In addition there will be a few official places where beer can be purchased," Zasadny said in interview to Information Center Euro 2012 .

In the frameworks of the festival, selling beer in glass containers in Lvov will be prohibited. Mainly draught beer will be sold in soft package. To ensure safety, some producers will introduce paper cups, another will offer plastic cups. There will be no unified beer tare.

Beer festivals are held in Lvov each year. In June 11-12, 2011 the city will host a fiesta that will show the traditions of brewing and beer culture of Western Ukraine.
