Brewer gets $20.5m in settlement

Boston Beer Co. has settled a dispute with a company that supplied some of its bottles, three years after glass particles were discovered in beer at a Sam Adams plant.

As part of the settlement, the bottle supplier — which Boston Beer Co. has not identified — will pay the Jamaica Plain-based brewery $20.5 million, the brewer said.

In 2008, glass particles were found in bottles of beer during an inspection at the Sam Adams facility in Cincinnati.

The brewery issued a recall, and no injuries or complaints were reported.
