New Mexico OKs shipping

By   2011-5-3 11:28:18

New Mexico will allow direct-to-consumer shipping from wineries starting July 1 after Gov. Susana Martinez signed into law Senate Bill 445.

Wineries from throughout the United States will be allowed to ship their products to adult New Mexico residents, a change from its former "reciprocal" policy.

Wineries must obtain a $50 permit, which will allow them to ship up to two cases per month to adult residents in New Mexico, to the Wine Institute. The new regulations do not apply to retailer wine shipments. For details on current direct-to-consumer regulations, visit wineinstitute.org.
