ABOUT LA FORTUNA
La Fortuna (Lontué Valley, Chile) exists since 1870 and the Güell family owns and operates the estate since 1942, making single-vineyard wines using only their own hand-picked grapes.
Viña La Fortuna S.A. was the first vineyard in Chile to be certified organic in 1997. Today and 14 years later, the vineyard and 6,500 square meter winery are certified 100% organic by IMO Switzerland and also Fairtrade by FLO Germany. The winery has the broadest range of organic and Fairtrade wine in Chile, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Carménère, Merlot and Syrah. Also sparkling wine produced as méthode traditionnelle and charmat.
La Fortuna believes its terroir is sustained by viticulture that values and respects biodiversity; the natural habitat of plants, insects and all living beings. No species, that originally inhabit the vineyard's perfect ecosystem, are introduced or removed.
