Roussillon wines entered China market

The press conference for Roussillon wines sponsored by French Roussillon Wines Association was hosted in Beijing on 23th, May, which signaled the Roussillon’s entry into the Chinese market. 

“There are 15 different kinds of wine species, 13 different varieties of AOC and several categories of Grand Cru in Roussillon area in France, among which red wines constitutes the majority. The others are white wines and pink wines. The production volume contributed by 4500 registered plantation owners makes the area the ninth largest producer in France.” Fabrice RIEU, president of the French Roussillon Wines Association, was cited as saying so.

It is also learned that Roussillon area is rich in mineral resources. Besides, it is bestowed with the longest daylight hours in France; therefore, it is dubbed the home to “Vin Doux Naturel”, the largest growing district of natural sweet grape in France. In addition, Roussillon and Languedoc together has always been called Languedoc-Roussillon winegrowing area, which is one of the ten largest French wine-making areas.
