SIAL China 2011 hailed a success

SIAL China 2011 has consolidated its position of largest food and beverage trade show in China after its 12th successful running from May 18 – 20 in Shanghai New International Expo Centre. 

There was a 15% increase in exhibitors from the previous year, with representatives from 76 countries and regions. There were 19 international pavilions, with Korea as the guest country of honour. This year saw 33 265 visitors visit the nine product zones: Wine & Spirits, Dairy, Sweets & Confectionery, Organic, Gourmet, Tea & Coffee, Halal, Frozen Food, Canned & Preserved food. 

A showcase of the latest food and beverage exhibited in SIAL China has revealed for its 7th edition 25 innovative products from more than 15 worldwide countries. 2 special prized have been awarded by the professional jury to Shijiazhuang Junlebao Dairy from China for its Lajoul’s Manor yoghurt, and Sanmark crop from China for its Infant formula Oil. 

“SIAL China 2011 was a milestone in the history of the show with strong growth in international exhibitors and visitors. The show has not only underlined its leading position in Mainland China but is now becoming a significant marketplace in Asia,” said Bjoern Kempe, exhibition director.
