Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region will build a grape cultural park in the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, the region's vice chairman Li Rui said during a campaign to promote Ningxia's wine and grape related industries earlier this month in Hong Kong.
The eastern stretch of Helan Mountain, about 50 kilometers northwest of capital city Yinchuan, is dubbed a "Gift from God" for wine production.
So far, the area has grown 24,800 hectares of grape and accommodated more than 30 wine producers, with an annual capacity of 94,000 tons in total.
According to the schedule set down in the park planning, there will be 46,700 hectares of wine grapes planted in the area by 2015 and 66,700 hectares by 2020. The park is expected to bring growth in tourism, leisure and wine industries in the region.
