History of medicated wine

Medicated wine, a kind of mixed wine, is a transparent liquid obtained by mixing wine and Chinese medicinal herbs together through certain processes. Records of medicated wine in oracle bone inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty may be the earliest relevant records ever found. The "52 Prescriptions" unearthed from Mawangdui Han Tombs record more than 30 medicated wine formulation for oral or external use to treat illnesses like ulcers, snake bits and itches, etc. 

The history of medicated wine, an ancient and distinctive therapy of traditional Chinese medical science, can be traced back to the remote past. Through such a long history, it has been widely accepted. With the development of Chinese medicine, medicated wine also keeps developing.
