Guangdong became the largest imported wine market

It was reported that Guangdong had already become the largest market for imported wines in China. Currently, not a few consumers are investing luxurious wines. For instance, a certain collected imported wine priced at 10,000 yuan has risen by forty percent in value over the past two years. Pernod Ricard Group, an international tycoon in the industry which has never appeared in domestic wine expositions, is scheduled to make its debut at the Guangdong International Wine Spirits Expo. Besides, well-known wines from both home and abroad, such as Maotai, Wuliangye, Remy Martin and Hennessy, will show up in the Expo. 

In 2010, the total sales value of various wines in Guangdong reached 36 billion yuan, accounting for 9.5 percent of 380 billion, the total sales value nationwide. The total sales value of imported wines in Guangdong was 11 billion yuan, which was 50.5 percent of the nation’s 21.8 billion.

Now, Guangdong has been crowned as the largest imported wine market, which has an average of 50 percent annual increase in terms of wine import.
