Chinese wine market has witnessed a rapid growth in terms of both production volume and sales volume over the past several years. The research report released by VINEXPO on March 3rd in Shanghai said that China’s production and sales volume had jumped to the seventh largest in the world.

It is learned that the Chinese costumers are fond of red wines so that 90 percent wines sold in the Chinese market are red ones. Despite the fact that the imported wines account for only 14.7 percent of the total consumption volume in China, it has seen a tremendous increase which has nearly quintupled over the past several years.

The sales network for the imported wines in Dalian, Liaoning has expanded rapidly recently, which can be reflected in the year-on-year sales volume increase in the medium-and-high-grade hotels. The local people in Dalian is cultivating a nearly mature consumption idea gradually in that they are paying more and more attention to Chile, Australia, Spain, and Italy rather than only to France. However, it is admitted that the Dalian market is still growing and we still have to strive for a better wine culture.
