Yantai wine industry booming

In 2010, wine industries above designated size in Yantai completed a gross industrial output value of 13.974 billion yuan, with the amount rising by 30.49 percent over the same period last year, which accounted for 45.15 percent and 83.86 percent of total industrial output value of their counterparts in Shandong and the whole country respectively. The main operating income was 19.229 billion yuan, increased by 32.88 percent year over year.
 

By the end of 2010, 130 wine-making companies obtained production license in Yantai, among which 37 were companies above designated size, accounting for 14.04 and 14.92 percent of their respective counterparts all over the country.

According to the information released by China National Food Industry Association(CNFIA), Yantai took six among the top ten companies in the wine-making industry in 2009, which clearly demonstrated the tremendous strength of Yantai wine-making industry. In the list, Changyu Group gained the top position, which became the leader of wine-making companies in China, and also the top fifth worldwide in 2009. In 2010, Changyu Group completed a gross industrial output value of 6.485 billion yuan, making up 20.95 percent of the wine companies above designated size all over the country.

 

The total wine output value reached 2.714 million hectolitres, up 8.86 percent on the same period of the last year, with an annual increase of 10.4 percent. Changyu Group produced 1.226 million hectolitres, accounting for 45.17 percent of the total volume of Yantai.
