Vinitaly In The World’ will be coming to the United States again this year with stops in New York and Washington, DC. This is the 14th international tour of Vinitaly. The tour will be stopping in Russia, the United States, China and Korea with representatives making a stop in Japan as well.

The US events will be held on October 17th in Washington, DC at the Italian Embassy and October 19th in New York at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

Vinitaly in the World is dedicated to educating Italian wine producers about the US market and conversely opening up the exciting Italian wine world of new wines, new vintages and other developments to US wine press and trade including importers, distributors, retailers, restaurateurs and sommeliers.

This year will see a beefed up number of seminars including one entitled “How has social media added to the conversation about wines? Is there a place for standardization and what makes someone an authority?”

Another seminar speaks to the difference communications technologies have made in the wine business and how online sales are affecting the wine trade. Additionally, for the first time ever, the Italian Sommelier Society will teach a master class that will certainly interest wine geeks and professionals like.
