Tourists nowadays are going for more locally grown vegetables and local cuisine.

These are sentiments echoed by Robert Clark, one of the key mentors in the South Pacific Food and Wine Festival that will be held next year in Fiji.

In officially launching the event at the Mango Café today, Tourism Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said that international visitors are more informed and well traveled, environmentally aware and culturally curious to seek new experiences.

He added that the festival will take place during Fiji's low visitor season and will enable local chefs to benefit from presentations by celebrity chefs from throughout the world.

The South Pacific Food and Wine Festival will be held from March 14-17 next year in Denarau.
