Liquor bandits raid Marabella supermarket

Armed robbers staged a heist at the popular China Number 2 Supermarket in Marabella, stealing over $20,000 in cash and more than $5,000 in liquor on Wednesday night. Police said around 8.10 pm, We Lin, 36 and Yun Long, 41, both of 61 Southern Main Road, Marabella were on duty at the supermarket, located at Southern Main Road, Marabella when three men armed with cutlasses and knives entered.

The thieves accosted customer Davindra Maharaj, 22, and beat him about the body. He was relieved of his wallet which held $100. The thieves then robbed Lin of over $20,000 in cash. They also stole five bottles of Johnny Walker, valued $1,600 and ten bottles of Hennessy Brandy, valued $3,333. The robbers then fled the scene on foot. No arrests have yet been made. Marabella police are continuing investigations.
