New Sales Manager at BWI

BWI Ltd is delighted to announce Clive Ashby has joined the company as Sales Manager.

Starting Monday 09 January, Clive now heads a team of three highly qualified Private Client Wine Advisors, with a fourth advisor joining BWI at the end of January.

Clive will certainly hit the ground running and will be focussing strongly on expanding BWI’s portfolio to include a stunning selection of fine wines from Burgundy, Italy, Spain and the New World; he will also be preparing the Private Client advisors for a comprehensive 2011 Bordeaux En Primeur campaign.

BWI’s Managing Director Robert Lench says, “I am delighted that Clive has elected to join BWI. Clive will lead an expanding team working with our increasing number of private clients. He brings a fantastic range of experience and a fresh perspective to the team.”

After 15 years in catering management, owning a wine bar and a restaurant, Clive came into the wine trade with a top Burgundy specialist where he was London Sales Manager for four years. Clive then moved to a large agency wholesaler and took responsibility for a range of accounts in various London restaurants and hotels. He was also a Bordeaux En Primeur buyer for the 2005-2010 campaigns, working with private clients and the UK wine trade.

Clive holds the WSET Diploma and has worked a vintage in New Zealand’s Hawkes Bay. His interests include Vintitulism, gastronomy, golf and rugby.
