The Oxford Wine Company is delighted to announce the appointment of Marcia Waters MW as Wine Buyer.

Marcia completed her Master of Wine qualification in the early 90s and started as buyer for Victoria Wine before becoming Wine Controller at Tesco, Wine Buyer at Rothschild Waddesdon and General Manager at Anglo American Farms UK (who own the famous South African wineries Boschendal and Vergelegen). She is also currently Chairman of the Education and Examination Board of the Institute of Masters of Wine.

Ted Sandbach, owner and Managing Director of the Oxford Wine Company says:
" I am really pleased that Marcia has joined us. She will bring massive experience and a host of invaluable contacts. As well as a buying role she will involve herself in all aspects of the company and continue to undertake WSET education, private and corporate tastings."

Marcia, who lives near Thame, added:
"This is an excellent fit geographically but also the chance to work with an exciting and innovative company who, over the recent years, have become a dominant player among the Independent merchants."

The Master of Wine qualification is regarded in the wine industry as the very highest standard of professional knowledge and is one of the hardest exams to pass in any field. The process is challenging and rigorous and there are currently only 300 MWs in the world.
