An auction of one of Glenfiddich's rarest-ever whiskies has raised £44,000 for a charity supporting wounded servicemen.

The Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve Whisky is a 55 year old single malt which takes its name from Janet Roberts, the 110-year-old granddaughter of William Grant who is the oldest living person in Scotland.

Only 11 bottles of the whisky will ever be released, according to Glenfiddich, and each one is hand numbered.

The auction took place at The Honourable Artillery Company in London last week. All proceeds from the sale will go to Walking with the Wounded, a charity dedicated to the retraining and re-education of servicemen and women.
