Five more "Taiwan Trade Fair" planned for China this year
Taipei, March 9, 2012 (CENS)--Thanks to the success of "Taiwan Trade Fair" over the past several years, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the organizer of the fair, plans five more such fairs in China this year, with the first one scheduled for April 5-8 in Shanghai.
So far 2,000 stands have been booked, including 1,800 of which by enterprises in Taiwan and the remaining 200 by Taiwanese enterprises in Shanghai.
Among the leading exhibitors are La New, Franz Collection Inc., Taiwan Sakura Corp., O-TA Precision Casting Co., Liuligongfang, Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc., Hsin Tung Yang, etc.
Shanghai is a top city in China in terms of affluence and the largest consumer market as well. Last year Shanghai`s service industry generated production value of 1.1 trillion renminbi (RMB) or NT$5.5 trillion (US$183.33 billion), with the value this year expected to increase by 500 billion RMB or NT$2.5 trillion (US$83.33 billion).
The consensus is that Taiwan`s upmarket agricultural products, nutritional foods, creative cultural items, and LED lighting will be popular in Shanghai; while TAITRA estimates that the upcoming "Taiwan Trade Fair" in Shanghai will likely create business value of US$800 million.
