Yantai Changyu Pioneer Wine Co plans to set up 30 wineries in the coming five years, giving it more wineries than any other wine producer in the world, Sun Jian, deputy general manager of the company, said Wednesday, Global Times reported. Within this year alone, Changyu is expected to see three new domestic wineries start operation in Shaanxi Province, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with annual production capacities of 1,000 tons, 1,000 tons and 500 tons respectively. "Currently, Changyu has four wineries overseas. In the near futures, we plan to build about 20 wineries in the world's top grape-growing regions, such as the US and Chile," said Sun, the newspaper said.
